Key Benefits

  • Voice and Voting rights in meetings
  • Signing book 1 for dispatch
  • I.O. Pension Benefit

Membership

The most important benefit of becoming an "A" member is your right to a voice and vote in the activities of this unit. Your participation in the process ensures you are heard on decisions regarding contracts, policy language and other changes that effect your conditions of employment.

Signing Book 1
Civil Service members may schedule and take the Inside Wireman Journeyman Examination. The examination is given free of charge. Once the test is passed the member may request a change of classification to "Journeyman Working Civil Service". In the event of separation, the member is then eligible to sign book 1, without passing the Inside Wireman's exam Civil Service members may sign Book 3.
Taking classes at the ETI
As a member of the unit you may register and take classes at the Electrical Training Institute (ETI) located in the City of Commerce. All classes are available to you as a member and you should contact the ETI for schedules and costs.
I.O. Pension Benefit
A membership includes a small I.O. Pension benefit.  For an explanation of the I.O. pension benefit contact the pension trust.
